Human support

When to take it to a person

Some things need continuity, judgment, and a person who can respond to what is happening now. Reaching for that support is not a failure of reflection.

When reflection is no longer enough

A practice or generated question may create momentary clarity, but it cannot know you, assess you, or remain accountable to you across time.

The same concern keeps returning without becoming more manageable
You can examine the pattern but can't seem to move through it
Brief clarity does not hold once you leave the page
What you need is someone who can know you across time — not a tool

When to seek help now

Consider contacting a licensed professional or another trusted human when any of the following feels true:

Thoughts of self-harm or suicide — seek immediate help. Call or text 988 now.
Persistent distress is interfering with sleep, work, relationships, or daily functioning
Past or present harm feels unsafe to hold alone or keeps returning with intensity
Eating, substance use, or another coping pattern is affecting your health or safety
Grief feels unmanageable, isolating, or is making daily life difficult
You want support even if your experience does not fit a label or threshold

What a therapist offers that the Sage cannot

Continuity

They remember. They know you across time. The context accumulates.

Clinical assessment

They can distinguish existential stress from clinical illness. The Sage cannot.

Genuine witness

They are changed by knowing you. That mutuality is something a tool cannot simulate.

Evidence-based treatment

CBT, EMDR, DBT, somatic work — tailored and adjusted over time to you.

You do not need a perfect explanation first

If beginning the conversation feels difficult, bring only what you can name.

  1. 1.Name what has been hardest to carry.
  2. 2.Say what has changed in your body, thoughts, relationships, or daily life.
  3. 3.Ask what kind of support is available next.

One honest sentence is enough to begin.
