Running costs
Approximate monthly ranges as of August 2026. They move with usage and with provider pricing.
Model responses (The Sage)
Charged per token. Scales with how much the Sage is used.
Hosting and delivery
Static hosting, CDN, serverless compute, database, domain, and certificates.
Retrieval embeddings
Turns the writing into something the Sage can search before it answers.
Time spent writing and maintaining the site is not counted here. It is the largest cost and it is not for sale.
Who is involved
The services that receive data are listed in full in the privacy policy. This is the short version.
- Amazon Web Services
- Hosting, delivery, compute, storage, and logs (us-east-1).
- Anthropic
- Generates Sage responses.
- OpenAI
- Fallback response provider, and embeddings for retrieval.
What is not here
- No investors, and no obligation to grow.
- No advertising, and no sale of anything about you.
- No analytics. Visits are not counted or attributed.
